About This Project

This Lakeville homeowner near Kenwood Trail Elementary wanted to elevate the look of their front yard with landscape curbing that would stand out from the standard smooth-finish options. After discussing several stamp patterns, they chose the ashlar slate design with an earth-tone integral color that complements their home’s stone veneer siding. We installed 180 linear feet of stamped curbing around three garden beds and along the front walkway border, creating a cohesive, high-end look.

The installation began with careful layout and string-line placement to ensure each border followed the existing landscape contours. We used our commercial-grade extruder to form the curbing profile, then applied the ashlar slate stamp pattern while the concrete was still workable. After curing, we applied a penetrating sealer to protect the surface from Minnesota’s freeze-thaw cycles and to enhance the color depth of the stamp pattern.

The result is a front yard that looks professionally designed and finished. The stamped curbing creates a clear distinction between the lawn, mulched garden beds, and the walkway, while the ashlar slate pattern adds a touch of elegance that catches the eye from the street.
