About This Project

The owners of this Apple Valley property near Echo Park Elementary have a large, flat yard with extensive flower beds along the property perimeter and several island beds in the back yard. They were spending hours each week hand-trimming around every edge and wanted a permanent solution that would let them mow right up to the border without any additional trimming work.

We installed 250 linear feet of our mower-friendly curbing profile, which features a flat top surface designed so that one wheel of a standard push or riding mower can ride along the edge. This eliminates the need for a string trimmer along every border. The curbing runs continuously around the full property perimeter and wraps around each flower bed, providing both a functional mowing edge and a clean visual separation between lawn and landscape areas.

The mower curbing was finished in natural concrete gray with a smooth surface for easy cleaning. The homeowner estimated they’ve cut their weekly yard maintenance time in half since the installation. Beyond the time savings, the continuous curbing gives the property a finished, well-maintained appearance that stands out in the neighborhood. This project demonstrates how the right curbing profile can be both practical and attractive.
